The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Zemgus Girgensons to a two-year contract. He’ll be getting paid $1.6 million per year.
He was a restricted free agent and went to arbitration. Girgensons had 7 goals, 9 assists in 75 games last season in what was a struggling year for him. The last two years have been rough for him, actually.
It will be interesting to see where he fits into the lineup with the new coaching staff here. In 277 games played, he has 37 goals and 49 assists for 86 points.
Here is what Zemgus posted on his Instagram account.
