What to do with Matt Moulson?

At age 33 and in the middle of a 5-year, $25 million dollar deal, Sabres fans wonder where Matt Moulson fits into this roster.

He was a prime candidate this Summer to get bought out, but new GM Jason Botterill didn’t feel that was in the best interest.

The forward scored 14 goals, 11 of those came on the powerplay, and had 32 points total. I don’t know about you, but I’m not thrilled about having a $5 million dollar power play specialist.

So what to do with Matt Moulson? I feel the GM and coaching staff will put him in the best place to produce for this hockey club. For me, the best way for him to help this team will have to be the opportunity for him on a top 6 spot in the lineup. It seems for certain that there are 5 of the top 6 spots penciled in, making way for Moulson. Of course you can always put him on the 4th line, but if you want production, I can’t see it from there.

Ethier way he will be a topic to discuss this training camp. Maybe, just maybe, he can surprise us under this new coaching regime.
