Chiefs watch: open up in Foxboro

Welcome to the weekly Chiefs watch update. Every week a couple times, I will go through who Kansas City will face, then after the game, the results of it.

Of course we all know the Buffalo Bills have the Chiefs 1st round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The two teams traded during the first round of this past May’s draft.

So for me starting tonight, I will be following KC relatively close. They play the SuperBowl Champion New England Patriots tonight to open up the season.

Offense: The offense wasn’t big play, down field last season, but it was good enough to win the division. Alex Smith is still the starter but who knows for how long. They will have a strong running game to compliment their short passing game with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

Defense: I expect the defense to be really good again this season. They still have Justin Houston, Marcus Peters and Eric Berry anchoring that side of the football.

I will be rooting for as many losses as possible, but have to be realistic. This should be a good football team. They have one of the best coaches in the league in Andy Reid and his staff makes adjustments.

I do think this will be an opening week loss to the Patriots. New England is at home, with all those weapons and it’s rare they lose in Foxboro.
