Total team performance leads to win over Denver

The Buffalo Bills improve to 2-1 on the young season with an impressive victory over the Denver Broncos, 26-16.

Here’s what went down today at New Era Field.

Taylor efficent: Facing a tough Broncos defense, Taylor rose up to the task in my opinion. He only had 213 yards passing, but he extended plays and found receivers down field. In a game where I thought Taylor would struggle, he proved me wrong.

Dennison calls a nice game: I liked how Dennison called the passing game for this offense. More roll outs called for Taylor, more downfield throwing. Importantly, using Matthews on across the field routes, his strength. There was a period during this game where the Bills defense and special teams gave the offense great field position and didn’t capitalize.

A little bit of luck: Taylor throws a ball to Zay Jones in the end zone, went through his hands, bobbled in the air and Andre Holmes was there to catch it for a touchdown. A break goes the Bills way.

Defense continues to roll: Yes, they gave up some big throws and runs, but in the end took over when they needed too. Congrats to Tre’Davious White with his first interception of his career. How good is EJ Gaines? Making plays all over the field, he has been impressive to this date. Tacking is something that continues to impress me, after two years of horrible tackling, it’s back.

Steven Hauschka means money: He was a big part of this win. Hitting a 53 yarder before half and in total hit two more from 55 and 49.

All in all it was a good overall team win for the Bills. Next week is a big challenge week 4 in Atlanta.

  1. The refs are still inconsistent. They did NOT call Tolberts touchdown a touchdown. However the steelers had the exact thing happen today and they said once it crosses the plane it is a TD. It does not matter what happens after that.
