I think almost about all of us who talked this Summer about what the Sabres roster would look like, turning out to be wrong.
With Justin Bailey sent down to Rochester, there are plenty of surprise players on the Sabres roster, as they get ready for opening night.
We also have to remember the Sabres have players like E-Rod, Nylander, McCabe, Malone injured.
Seth Griffith: When Griffith was signed during the Summer, I figured he was a Rochester pickup. But instead, he has had a strong camp and preseason. I still have my doubts as he has plenty of a sample size in the NHL. Right now he is being given a tremendous opportunity to produce playing with Sam Reinhart and Pouliot.
Jacob Josefson: I doubt he is just on the roster because he can help in shootouts, he’s done good work these past couple weeks. He will be an upgrade on the 4th line then what this team has had in recent years. The question is can he produce on the stat sheet?
Signing of Jordan Nolan: Sabres felt they needed to fill the void when Marcus Foligno was traded. I think Nolan will flip flop, playing and being a scratch.
Matt Tennyson: The defense has been the biggest surprise to me. The question is, how much longer will he be on the roster? The team has 9 defensemen as of now. McCabe and Bogosian are injured.
