The Buffalo Sabres start the season off with a shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

What a return for Jason Pominville as he nets in two goals.

It was good start for this brand of hockey. It was entertaining. Love the speed and pace. It’s going to take time and patience, but tonight was a good start.

The O’Reilly, Okposo, Pouliot line was slow, nothing concerning.

For all the new defensemen, a step in the right direction. Joining the rush, getting shots on net and not letting anything get behind them.

Montreal’s second goal was a combination of lackluster effort by the power play unit and a weak goal by Lehner.

Buffalo was definitely the better hockey team tonight, it’s just a work in progress with a new players and system.
