The Buffalo Bills lose to the New York Jets by a score of 34-21 to fall to 5-3 to wrap up the first half of the season.
I’ll talk a little bit about the game, as well as wrapping up the first half of the season, bad looking ahead towards the final 8 games.
Line of scrimmage: Plain and simple: the Bills got crushed on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Defensive line got pushed over, while the Jets rushed 5 and mulled the offensive line. I have never seen both sides of the line play so bad. Bills gave up 194 yards on the ground, while only rushing for 63. The Bills offensive line gave up 7 sacks. I’ll just stop, rough night.
Nothing going right: Untimley penalties, freaky turnovers, missed tackles, nothing went right. Just a long, long night for this football team.
1st half thoughts: Well, if you told me after the first 8 games of the season that the Bills would be 5-3, I would’ve called you nuts. I am very surprised by this football team thus far. Have they gotten lucky? Maybe a little by some calls and this great turnover margin, but they have played some ice football. A total surprise for almost every fan.
2nd half preview: This team has a whole lot of football in front of them. A lot of opportunities ahead. If they use these next 10 days before thier next game, to correct some things and get refreshed mentally and physically and return to fundamental football, I think they will be fine. It all starts next Sunday as the Saints come to Orchard Park.
