It’s hard to think someone who makes $5 million dollars a year like Matt Moulson does playing at the AHL level.
Matt Moulson is good as gone with the Buffalo Sabres organization. I can’t see him actually going to Rochester and playing down there.
Something is brewing between GM Jason Botterill and Moulson’s agent.
Phil Housley said this at the morning skate in Colorado: “Jason and his agent are working on some options but that’s as much as I know at this point.”
What are those options: Trade? Europe? Retirement? Other options?
You would have to think a trade is the most likely possible outcome. I can’t see him willing to retire. There could be interest in Moulson. The Sabres would have to take some of his salary because no team would be interested otherwise.
Who would want Matt Moulson? Teams that are looking for a scorer that they think they can get him back on track….or a rebuilding team for whatever reason, it’s certainly possible.
One thing is for sure: Jason Botterill took the first months of play to evaluate and it seems like the first round of evaluations are done.
He knows what he has with this hockey team.
