On TSN’s insider trading, Pierre LeBrun talked about what the Sabres return price is on Evander Kane.

LeBrun: “The price, if the #Sabres  have their way, will be a first-round pick, plus a prospect, plus potentially a conditional pick in case he signs w/ that new team.”

As I said this a couple weeks ago, I wonder if the price dips for the Sabres because of other goal scorers that will be available on the trade market. Last month before Christmas, it was said that the Sabres were looking for more than a 1st, prospect and conditional.

In Elliotte Friedman’s 31 thoughts, he linked the Sharks GM to Kane:

I could see GM Doug Wilson eying someone like Evander Kane. It makes sense. Couture’s also been very, very good. Marc-Edward Vlasic, who is an outstanding quote, said the centre will have to “grow a ridiculous beard or carry around a dog” if he wants to get the attention he deserves, however.

Robin Lehner? Friedman: “I wonder if the Islanders will take a look at Robin Lehner.

He must’ve heard this from somewhere. Although, the Isles are looking to upgrade at goaltender. Lehner would be a rental as his contract is up at the end of the season.
