Call me crazy, but I’m not ready to give up on Sam Reinhart.
After having two productive seasons to start his career, this one has been rough for the former 2nd overall pick.
Fans love to label the word “bust,” on Reinhart just because he has not yet made the next step up this season. To call him a bust is premature, it’s still too early.
The whole 2014 draft was weak.
And news flash: the entire team has been terrible, besides Jack Eichel and Evander Kane.
Reinhart’s play has been up and down. There are games where he shows flashes, then other games I wonder if he’s playing.
Darren Dreger said a Sam Reinhart trade is unlikely, and I’m fine with that. He’s a restricted free agent at the end of the season, and I believe the Sabres can sign him cheap. A one year show me deal could be the way to go.
Trade interest in Evander Kane is heating up. Still could be deadline deal as market grows. Reinhart trade unlikely in next 2 months.

The next step for Reinhart? It’s being consistent in his game. Work ethic has been a problem, from what I’ve been told, it’s taken a dip since his rookie season.
If he can make adjustments, he can be a much better player.
I don’t think Jason Botterill is ready to give up up either.
