JOCELYN BENNETT, SASKATOON STARPHOENIX

The Buffalo Bandits came back from as many as seven goals down Friday night to win in overtime against the Rush.
One player that had a major impact on the comeback victory is backup goalie Zach Higgins.
Buffalo was down 6-0 to start the game and in came Higgins to replace Bugue.
Right from the start, Higgins had to keep the Rush lead from increasing, making some tough saves.
The second half is where Higgins should have earned a start next week against Rochester. Higgins made huge saves down the stretch, including many break aways in the 4th. Of course give the Bandits defense credit for locking down in the 2nd half, but Higgins kept them in. He finished with 34 saves on 45 shots.
Cordingley has to go with the hot hand, and Higgins is that answer.
Many fans say Higgins isn’t a starting goalie, he’s more of the coming in for relief type. But he should be given the chance to start a game and see what he can do with it.
