The Buffalo Bisons defeat the Pawtucket RedSox by a score of 14-8, winning the series.
An offensive explosion for the Bisons after only scoring one run on 4 hits last night.
Dwight Smith’s grand slam: The Herd hit 4 home runs this afternoon, but the notable one was Smith’s 6th inning grand slam to break the game open.
Darnell Sweeney, Teosar Hernandez and Jason Leblebijian hit the other Bisons homeruns.
Overall, Buffalo’s offense put up 14 hits throughout the game.
McGuire’s struggles: Starting pitcher Deck McGuire had a good first two innings, until the bottom of the 3rd where Pawtucket scored 4. Overall, McGuire went 5 innings, gave up 5 hits, 6 earned, 3 walks and struck-out 4.
Smith’s debut: His first appearance this season, Murphy Smith went 1.2 innings, giving up 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 unearned runs. Smith, the team’s 2017 most valuable pitcher, joined the Herd yesterday.
Buffalo’s next game is tomorrow, home opener against Indianapolis. Pitch at 2:05- CocaCola Field.
