Bills cap situation after Eric Wood release

By Brandon J. Koch

With the news that the Bills are releasing Eric Wood, you might think about how this might effect the Bills cap?

More dead cap: Wood’s dead cap hit this season is $10.3 million, the second highest with Marcell Dareus being the top.

Total dead cap: The Bills by far have the most dead cap in the league at $46.9 million. Although the Wood and Incognito retirements were unexpected, GM Brandon Beane had a plan all along to eat dead cap for two seasons.

Richie Incognito’s dead cap is $1.15 million.

According to Spotrac, the Bills are losing $1.76 in cap space from Wood’s release.

Harrison Phillips contract: The Bills signed their 3rd round pick to a 4-year deal. There hasn’t been any numbers on that contract yet.
