In a tweet by Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic, he said that contract chatter regarding Jeff Skinner will take place around the holidays next month.
Regarding pending UFA Jeff Skinner, on fire for the Sabres, there haven't been any contract talks yet but the expectation is that both sides will start chatting in and around the holidays next month and see where it goes from there…

Skinner is a big part for the Sabres success so far this season. In 22 games, he has 15 goals and 8 assists.
This will definitely be a top discussion around Buffalo for the months to come, obviously Jason Botterill believes that Skinner is a core piece of this franchise along with Eichel and Dahlin.
We’ve heard reporting from Jeremy White of WGR that Skinner is looking for 8 years at about $9-$9.5 per season.

Something that we will all be looking very close into as the season progresses.
