The western Canada trip gets a bit more interesting for the Buffalo Sabres.
Renaud Lavoie of TVA sports reports that defenseman Nathan Beaulieu has made a trade request to Sabres management.
Nathan Beaulieu made a trade request to the Sabres management. Not playing much and it’s a contract year.

John Vogl of the Athletic says general manager Jason Botterill has no comment at this time on the report.
Beaulieu was acquired by Buffalo in June of 2017 from Montreal for a 3rd round pick.
It’s simple why Beaulieu requested a trade. As Lavoie reported, there’s too many defenseman on the Sabres roster right now.
With Nelson injured, the Sabres have 9 total defenseman.
Has Beaulieu played well enough to get consistent ice time? In my opinion, it’s not even close. He just hasn’t played well. In 26 games this season, the 26 year-old has 7 points.
