Former Sabres captain Brian Gionta named to US Hockey Hall Of Fame

The US Hockey Hall Of Fame was announced today.

Former Sabres captain Brian Gionta was one of five in the 2019 class.

Gionta, a 3rd round pick in the 1998 draft, played 230 games in three seasons with the Sabres, scoring 40 goals and 103 points.

US Hockey history:

•Has represented the U.S. at the Olympic Winter Games (2006)

• Has played for Team USA in five International Ice Hockey Federation world championships

• U.S. Men’s National Junior Team (1998,1999)

• U.S. Men’s National Team (2000, 2001, 2005)
