With the Sabres opening up training camp in less the ten days, players are starting to fly into town.
One player that is back in the 716: Jack Eichel
WGR’s Paul Hamilton tweeted a photo of Jack Eichel and Kyle Okposo skating at HarborCenter with thier teammates today. This has been going on for a couple weeks and it is organized by former Sabre Matt Ellis. Each week, more and more players join.
Eichel on wanting to be a Sabre and contract talks: “I have no problem playing the year out. I’m adamant about staying a Sabre, I want to bring some new excitement to this town and the contract thing will take care of itself.”
About his third season: “Every year you try to become a little bit more mature and you try to handle your business a little bit better whether that’s your day to day at the rink or how I handle you guys, its all new and its only my 3rd year, so I just want to keep getting better at everything.”
