Radio host Dan Sileo says the Bills are one of five teams that have called on Eli Manning.
Let’s try and dissect this. Why would the Bills want Eli?
1. Mentor to Josh Allen: The Bills don’t need a backup, but McDermott and Beane have always talked about getting Josh Allen as much help as possible for his development.
2. Total smokescreen: I think this is more likely than the first one. The other teams on this list are hurting for a quarterback, need be a starter or backup.
3. Beane just doing his due diligence. Just because he called, doesn’t mean there’s legitimate interest.
Eli has a no trade clause.
